We make no apology for raising this topic once again because in a few days time, on the 21st December 2012, the EU Gender ruling comes into force and it will have a huge impact on car insurance premiums for many of the female species.
For those of you who are still not aware of what is about to happen, this ruling means that insurance companies can no longer discriminate between men and women as far as their gender is concerned when it comes to calculating premiums for the likes of life insurance and car insurance.
Again, for those of you who are unaware, at the present time it costs a female less in car insurance premiums when compared to a male with exactly the same details held on the car insurance company’s database.
With effect from the 21st December 2012 that all changes following this ruling coming into force. Some car insurance companies have already started to factor this change into their premiums but for most this has yet to happen. The impact will no doubt be seen by many women very soon.
So, what can you ladies do about the situation?
Well, have you thought about shopping around to see if you can get a better deal with another car insurer? If you haven’t, you perhaps ought to. It costs you nothing to make those enquiries but it may cost you if you don’t.
In this respect, after 21st December 2012, make some enquiries to find out what your existing car insurance premium may increase to at renewal, get on the Internet and do some research by going onto one of the price comparison websites and see if you can help contain the cost of any increase. It will only take up a few minutes of your time but it may be time well spent.
